What types of Internet Banking Export Files does eZ support?
Our applications support four different file formats: .OFX (MS Money), .QIF (Quicken), .QBO, .CSV, .XLS (Excel) and .QFX. From EasyBiz experience, the .OFX, and .QBO file formats contain the most descriptive information for transactions and should be used, if possible (see *
below for Banking Guidelines).
What versions of QuickBooks do you support?
eZ supports UK/South African versions of QuickBooks editions Pro and Premier 2008/10/12
Installation & Running for the First Time
How do I install eZ?
How do I install eZ?
The first step in the process is to purchase eZ from EasyBiz. You will simply run the installation application once you’ve received the installation disk. You will be stepped through a series of actions required for installing the application.
Why is QuickBooks required to be running?
When you open eZ, it loads the lists of customers, suppliers, and accounts from your QuickBooks company file to make them available in the eZ application.
What will you do with my registration information?
eZ securely stores the information in order to provide support. We will never sell or lease your information to another party.

How can I tell whether eZ is integrated with my QuickBooks?
In QuickBooks click on Edit on the menu and select Preferences. All integrated applications will be listed under the Integrated Applications/Company Preferences.
Tip: You could also deny access to any integrated application at any time.

What types of QuickBooks transactions may be imported?
We support the importing of the following transaction types: Write Check, Make Deposit, Receive Payments and Bill Payments.
Am I required to import all transactions into an internet download file?
No. You will be shown all the transactions in the download file and may select which transactions to import into QuickBooks.
Do you support CSV and XLS files?
Yes. However, the files should be formatted as the following:
Column 1 Date of Transaction
Column 2 Amount (with debits being negative and credits positive)
Column 3 Cheque Number (may be blank or empty)
Column 4 Transaction Description (used for mapping transactions to QuickBooks Payees and Accounts)
What do the different statuses mean for the Import File Table?
The statuses are explained below:
Unmatched The transaction was compared against the data in QuickBooks and there was not a transaction with the same amount within a week of each other and with the same cheque number (or one having a blank number)
Matched The transaction was compared against the data in QuickBooks and there was a transaction with the same amount, within a week of each other and with the same cheque number (or one having a blank number)
Imported The transaction was successfully imported by eZ Account Import into QuickBooks
Error During the importing of the transaction, there was an error with the data in the transaction
Can a matched transaction be imported?
Yes. The matching is purely done to help prevent duplicate entries in QuickBooks. You may still select it for import. Note: A warning message will be shown to ensure the transaction wasn’t accidentally selected, but you may continue to import.
If I import a transaction and later decide I should not have imported it, can I remove the transaction?
Through QuickBooks you may void the transaction. Please refer to QuickBooks help on how to void a transaction.
How do I know whether all the transactions were imported?
After clicking the Add to QuickBooks button, a dialog box opens specifying the number of transactions attempted to be imported; the number of successful imports and the number with errors. Clicking the Status column will sort the transactions in order of status. This is helpful for finding the transactions with errors.
How does the transaction get labelled as an error?
eZ Account Import will verify that the required data is present before attempting to import the transaction. If some data is missing, it will label the transaction as an error. Otherwise, the transaction will be attempted to be added to QuickBooks. QuickBooks will verify that the data is correct for the type of transaction selected for import. If there is error in the data, QuickBooks will provide the error message to eZ Account Import. For example, if you attempt to send a bill payment with an account set to an accounts receivable eZ Account Import will receive an error from QuickBooks specifying that the account must be an accounts payable account.
Can I split a transaction?
Yes. eZ Account Import supports splitting of transactions, allocating a single amount to multiple accounts.
Can I mark undeposited funds in QuickBooks as deposited?
Yes, eZ allows you select transactions from undeposited funds to mark as deposited.
Do you support VAT?
Yes. You may select whether VAT was included in the transactions that you are importing into QuickBooks.

The one is “normal” internet banking which is just a single user profile, and then there is the “corporate or business” internet banking, which allows multiple users to access the bank accounts with different user and access rights for different users.
Standard Bank:
- Normal – referred to as “Internet Banking” allows QIF download formats only.
- Business – referred to as “Business Online” allows Excel download formats only.
First National Bank:
- Normal – referred to as “Online Banking” allows both OFX and QIF download formats.
- Business – referred to as “Online Banking Enterprise” allows no download formats.
Nedbank:
- Normal – referred to as “Netbank” allows both OFX and QIF download formats.
- Business – referred to as “Netbank Business” allows both OFX and QIF download formats.
ABSA Bank:
- Does not have separate normal and business internet banking. It is only one facility and additional users can be added to the normal internet banking facility.

Note: If your bank is not listed here, we recommend that you consult and confirm with them regarding the formats.
